Hach DR900 Handheld Colorimeter
Colorimeters are spectrophotometers with preset wavelengths. The Hach DR900 has four wavelengths that were selected to perform tests over most of the visible spectrum.
The Hach DR900 colorimeter is excellent for detecting and quantifying:
- Iron Ferrous, Ferric, and Total
- Chlorine Free and Total
- Monochloramine
- Dissolved oxygen
- Zinc
- Silica
- Fluoride
- Bromine
- Ammonia
- Phosphorus
- Phosphonates
- Copper
- Molybdenum
The Hach DR900 handheld colorimeter provides accurate and consistent results for water chemistry identification.
What Is a Hach DR900 Handheld Colorimeter?
A Hach DR900 is a portable colorimeter for testing 90 common water quality parameters. This device is manufactured to last in harsh environments and can resist shock, dust, water and drop tests. The user interface is easy to use, and the colorimeter has backlit buttons for visibility in any lighting conditions. The Hach colorimeter DR900 can store data for up to 500 tests and has a USB port that allows this information to transfer from the colorimeter to a computer program.
How Does a Hach DR900 Handheld Colorimeter Work?
This handheld colorimeter offers an intuitive way to study water chemistry. The Hach DR900 is preprogrammed with various methods, eliminating the need to select the method before the test. After you select a parameter from the method list and follow the specific parameter method instructions, the Hach colorimeter DR900 will display the reaction time for measuring. The Read button displays the test results.
For accurate results, reagents are added to the sample, since colorimeters measure color and water is naturally colorless. The colorimeter determines color based on the absorption of green, blue and red components in the water sample. Some of the parameters the colorimeter can test include alkalinity, nitrite, fluoride, chlorine and silica.
