This is the fourth consecutive year that AquaPhoenix has received an Award of Excellence from Fisher Science Education. AquaPhoenix has previously been recognized as “Supplier of the Year” in 2011 and 2013, “Best Supply Chain Management” in 2013 and “Highest Sales Growth” in 2012.
The 2014 AWT Convention in Fort Worth, TX, was another great event! We are proud to be a major sponsor of this convention and want to thank everyone that stopped by to see us. It’s great to see so many of you and get feedback. We are always working to improve our products and services so that we can continue to grow with you.
Pennsylvania Labor and Industry Secretary, Julia Hearthway, traveled to Hanover, PA to visit with several business owners in the manufacturing industry on October 24, 2014. She toured four manufacturing facilities including AquaPhoenix to observe ‘modern-day’ manufacturing operations. AquaPhoenix also hosted a luncheon and an Executive Roundtable discussion for the Secretary and area business leaders.
Frank Lecrone, President, and Henry Buschinski, GM, recently accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at the end-of-summer company picnic. At that time Frank challenged several individuals on the management team to participate. The employees were give 2 weeks to raise money for ALS and every $10 secured a gallon of water to be dumped on the team. We were able to raise and contribute $170 to an important cause and have a little fun in the process!
This is the fourth year that AquaPhoenix has had a team to participate in the Relay for Life event which takes place every July in Hanover, PA. Each year our team sets a hefty fundraising goal and this year we were able to donate over $9,000 thanks to many generous donations from family, friends and area businesses. This year, Paige Wingert, president at Legacy Athletic, was given a friendly challenge by Frank Lecrone to donate $1000 to our Relay for Life team. In return, Frank agreed to match the donation and looks to get more businesses involved in raising funds with the hope of finding a cure for cancer. Over the last four years, AquaPhoenix has donated nearly $40,000 to the American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life – half of which have been dollar-for-dollar matches from the owner of the company.
A fundraising goal of $225,000 was established for the entire Hanover community for this year’s Relay for Life event. Similar to previous years, the community exhibited a huge amount of camaraderie and dedication with the hope of making a difference, however small, to ensure life-saving cancer research gets funded and everyone gets the critical help they need when they need it. Together we were able to raise $226,932.
