There is an old saying: “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.” Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks men to literally walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. On August 14, 2015, a team of 10 from AquaPhoenix participated in the Walk to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse while contributing over $1,500 to the Hanover YWCA. The community event raised over $30,000 and the Hanover YWCA will use the money to fund their Safe Home and Still Waters programs.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Frank Lecrone Jr., father of Frank Lecrone III, owner of AquaPhoenix Scientific. Frank lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on July 31, 2015. He was the founder and president of Hawk Creek Laboratory established in 1980 and sold the company to AquaPhoenix Scientific in 2007. Since that time he continued to contribute to the continuous improvement at AquaPhoenix and offer his expertise to our lab and research chemists. He will be sorely missed by our AquaPhoenix family. His obituary can be read here.
AquaPhoenix was well represented at the Hanover Relay for Life held on July 10-11, 2015. In our 5th year participating in the event, there were 29 employees and 21 family/friends who took turns walking around the track in support of our loved ones battling cancer, honoring those in remission and remembering those who have passed. This year our team raised over $10,000 through various fundraisers and local sponsorships. Overall, the event raised $203,850. More than 50 teams comprised of local businesses and family groups participated in the event, which was held during a 24-hour period Friday and Saturday.
